Working principle of corn flaking twin screw extruder

The twin screws rotate in the puffing chamber, pushing the corn material forward. The material is compacted in the feeding section. After entering the compression melting section, the material begins to melt due to the change in the spiral structure, external heating, strong stirring, mixing, and shearing, until it is completely melted. In the uniform section, the material is evenly distributed to the mold plate through the diverter plate. At this time, the pressure is usually 3~6Mpa and the temperature can reach 150~200℃. When the material is extruded from the die hole, the pressure is quickly released, the free water evaporates rapidly, and the material expands and solidifies.
