Design of structure of combined roller for corn flake pressing

- Multi-roller combination: usually composed of two or more rollers, the most common is a double roller combination. The diameter and length of the roller are designed according to different production requirements, such as the common roller with a diameter of 500-600mm and a length of about 1500mm.

- Adjustment device: equipped with an adjustment mechanism, such as a hydraulic system or a screw adjustment device, which can accurately adjust the gap between the rollers to control the thickness of the corn flakes.

Material selection for corn flake combination roller

- Roller material: generally made of wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant materials such as high nickel-chromium alloy. The thickness of the alloy layer is usually 35-40mm, which can ensure the wear resistance and stability of the roller under long-term high pressure and high-speed operation, and extend its service life.

- Surface treatment: The surface of the roller is finely processed and treated, and some are brushed to increase the friction with the corn, so that the corn can be better extruded and shaped during the pressing process, while ensuring the surface quality of the extruded corn flakes.

How it works

The corn flakes combined rollers are driven by a motor to rotate the rollers. When the corn raw materials enter the gap between the rollers, they are squeezed and rubbed by the two rollers and pressed into flakes. By adjusting the gap, speed, pressure and other parameters of the rollers, the thickness, density and quality of the corn flakes can be controlled.

- Production capacity: Small equipment may produce from a few hundred kilograms to several tons per hour, while large industrial production lines can produce 10 tons per hour or even higher. For example, a production line with a daily output of 200-240 tons has an hourly output of about 10 tons.

- Power configuration: The motor power varies according to the production capacity and equipment scale. The motor power of small equipment may be 2.2-7.5kW, while that of large production lines can reach tens of kilowatts or even higher, such as a large corn flake production line with a total power of about 260kW.
