Downstream cooler

                - Corn flakes downstream cooler has good cooling effect: the downstream cooling method makes the heat exchange more sufficient, and the cold air and corn flakes flow in the same direction, which can make the corn flakes cool evenly, effectively avoid local overheating or uneven cooling, and ensure stable product quality.
- High drying efficiency: while cooling the corn flakes, the corn flakes downstream cooler can use hot air to take away some moisture, play a certain drying role, help reduce the moisture content of corn flakes, improve its storage stability, and reduce problems such as mildew caused by excessive moisture.
- Simple structure: The structure of the corn flakes downstream cooler is relatively simple, mainly composed of air inlet, air outlet, silo, cooling air duct and other parts, without complex transmission devices and vulnerable parts, so it is convenient to operate and maintain, reducing the operating cost and maintenance difficulty of the equipment.
- Corn flakes downstream cooler has less material damage: During the downstream cooling process, corn flakes slowly and evenly descend under the action of gravity, fully contact with cold air, and are subject to less mechanical impact, which can effectively reduce the breakage and damage of corn flakes and maintain the integrity and appearance quality of the product.
- Large production capacity: Corn flakes downstream cooler usually has a large silo and reasonable air duct design, which can continuously cool a large number of corn flakes, meet the needs of large-scale production, and improve production efficiency.
Working principle of corn flake downstream cooler
Hot air acts as a heat medium and flows in the same direction as the corn flake material. The hot air enters from the air intake ventilation section, passes downward through the grain layer, transfers heat to the grains, increases the grain temperature, and evaporates the water into the air and becomes exhaust gas to be discharged, thereby achieving the cooling and drying of the corn flakes.
Corn flake downstream cooler structure
- Inlet and outlet: The inlet is used to introduce cold air from the outside, and the outlet is used to discharge the hot and humid air generated during the cooling process to ensure the circulation of cooling air.
- Silo: It is used to store corn flakes to be cooled, and usually has a large capacity to meet the needs of continuous production.
- Cooling air duct: The air duct is reasonably designed to ensure that the cold air can be evenly distributed in the silo and fully contact with the corn flakes to improve the cooling effect.
- Corn flake downstream cooler distribution device: distributes corn flakes evenly in the silo, so that the material can be evenly exposed to the cold air during the cooling process, avoiding uneven local cooling.
- Discharge device: located at the bottom of the cooler, used to discharge the cooled corn flakes. Usually, a flap type, slide valve type or impeller type discharge mechanism is used, which can be selected according to actual needs.
Corn flake downstream cooler performance parameters
- Processing capacity: Depending on the different models and specifications, the processing capacity of corn flake downstream coolers varies. Generally, it can process several tons to dozens of tons of corn flakes per hour.
- Cooling efficiency: It can reduce the temperature of corn flakes to close to room temperature in a relatively short time. Generally, it can cool corn flakes from a higher temperature to about 3℃-6℃ higher than room temperature.
- Moisture reduction: The moisture content of corn flakes can be reduced to a safe storage range, usually from 18%-22% to around 10%-13%.
Corn flake downstream cooler application areas
It is mainly used in the production process of corn flakes to cool and dry corn flakes after steam flake processing. In addition, it can also be used for cooling other granular materials, such as soybean flakes, oat flakes, etc.
